It’s hard to know whether to be optimistic or not. The Bees are still in the relegation zone in League 2 and have a laughably inept away record. But at the same time their home form is decent and only a few points cover the lower half of the table. A couple of wins against similarly struggling opposition and things will look rosier. But at the same time, many more performances like that at Oxford, where once again a decent position with an hour gone was squandered, and a return to the Conference will be a certainty.A lot will depend on the form and fitness of the key strike pair, Kabba and McLeod. Fit and firing they surely have the talent and experience to score enough goals to keep the Bees up. At the same time, the return from injury of the defenders sidelined since the start of the campaign will provide strength in depth that has been badly missed. Given a full squad to choose from and maybe a couple of creative (free) signings in the January sales and the resources should be there for survival.
